Master Gardeners “help people grow” by offering an assortment of educational opportunities throughout the year. Sign up for the Real Dirt or our Facebook page for deliveries straight to you, or attend any of our monthly meetings to enhance your growing skills and pleasure. When you’re ready, you can also take Michigan State University’s rigorous 40 hour Master Gardener training program. To earn the Master Gardener title, augment your classroom studies with an additional 40 hours of hands-on service learning in the community.

American Waste Recycle Facility Tour

Where: American Waste Recycle Facility, 280 Hughes Drive Traverse City, MI
What: Where does all our recycle go? Did you know that Traverse City has its very own state-of-the-art recycling facility right here in town? The American Waste Facility is housed in an industrial warehouse that spans five acres, and has Northern Michigan’s 2nd largest solar array! Join your local Master Gardeners for a tour of this amazing facility, and learn how they take care of those carefully recycled items of yours. Read their brochure:American Waste Tours Information.
